Hi Amber,
Sorry to hear you weren't satisfied with the mp3s. Please keep in mind that the audio on Pimsleur is their entire program. (They do not offer any type of software.) Whereas our main program is the software. The mp3s are supplementary in our program, and are made to help you reinforce what you are learning in the program. I would recommend also trying our audio Cd that comes with the program. You may find the audio cd to be more along the lines of what you are looking for.
As far as the Android app, we understand that Android is a priority and we're working xxxx developing the app. Please bear in mind that because Android Apps have to support so many different devices it takes work to get it right. We're aiming to have the Android App out to you before the end of the year and hopefully sooner.
If we can help further, please feel free to email us at: [email protected]
Cheers,
Fluenz User Support

The iPhone app is great and I love using it. I no longer use the Mac version of the program - on my iPad the program is much smoother to use.
I do, however, have to say that the Spanish language podcasts and audio CDs are awful and add no value. I love the Fluenz software but in my opinion there is absolutely no reason to ever access the audio CDs.

I had a different experience with the French mp3s and CDs. I really liked the format with Sonia's interactions with the native speakers and the background lounge music. After listening to one of the mp3s, I remember the use of 'y' and 'en' finally clicked. Plus, when you are asked to come up with the answer, I would simply pause play to give myself more time.
Portuguese was a different story. The format was much less to my liking (no music, no Sonia, not as many explanations). A less polished product in my opinion, but I still use them as a supplemental resource. In my opinion, the more you hear (especially from different people) the better. And Daniela (sp?) has a rich Portuguese accent, which helps your 'ear' become more nuanced.

MH, I'm super excited to hear that the plan is to release the app before the end of the year! /squee! x-ing my fingers for sooner rather than later, and I do totally understand that audio is Pimsleure's entire program, and that Fluenze audio's are just supplementary, but I wanted to throw it out there that the response time allowed is frustratingly short. Again, overall. super in love with the software!
Ayden, that salty wound is burning, but, it makes me even more excited to see the future android app! My husband is in DLI for French right now, and they issued him an I pad that he leaves at home regularly, perhaps I'll swipe it one of these days and try out the i pad app!
Eric, I totally agree, I really do prefer the format with Sonja and the native speaker, along with the background music. However, the only time I would use the audio/mp3s is while I'm driving or while jogging, neither of which is conducive to pausing repeatedly. It's much easier for me to throw in Pimsleur or a French dubbed movie (Megamind in French is fantastic, btw)
Thanks everyone!

I love the audio tracks and the podcasts. I listen to them all the time. In fact i have them in my shuffle mix that I listen to when walking my dogs. If it pops up I bang out a session. I would love more podcasts, perhaps on special topics.
