Tip for Better Translating
Just want to pass on a little tip I have been using for clarifying something that I am kind of sure I heard right (i.e., from a native speaker on Rai Italia, from a movie in Italian, etc), but am not absolutely sure about how to write and/or repeat correctly. In addition to making use of Google Translate, I have been doing searches for what I think is close to being it on Google Italia. I often find that Google Italia will, sooner rather than later, provide me with the grammatically correct version of whatever it is I think I have heard, as long as I have enough of the phrase correct. I also use Google Italia in conjunction with Google Translate in order to, more accurately, translate something I want to say in Italian (from English), to help better ensure that whatever comes out of Google Translate (in Italian) is indeed something that Italians might actually say, and not just a literal translation from Google Translate. In my experience, learning something incorrectly can be very hard to undo! An Italian dictionary, which has pronunciation stress marks, has also been beneficial to me in order to prevent my learning, incorrectly, how to pronounce words; something else that can be very hard to undo!!!!
