jugar tennis is the subject of gustar even though in english it is an object, so it's singular. Verbs like gustar, encantar are different, you have seen "me gusta la televisión", and "me gusta comer" as well as "me gustan los camarones", so it's the same with the imperfect, "me gustaba comer", "me gustaban los camarones", "me encantaban los camarones". "me", "le", "les", "nos" are indirect objects so they will not be changing the verb. That's why you will have "nos gustaban los camarones", the plural is los camarones, not "nos".
So you have:
me gusta el carro i like the car
me gustó el carro i liked the car (simple past)
me gustaba comer los tomates, pero ya no (imperfect, the subject is "comer", not "tomates", so it's singular)
nos gustaron los camarones we liked the shrimps (simple past)
les gustaba la camisa they liked the shirt (imperfect)
te gustó comer esto you liked eating this (simple past)
les gustan las mujeres they like the women
and so on..

The way I remember this is to think of gustar as meaning "appeals to". So, "Nos gusta la cena" is "The dinner appeals to us" even though Fluenz would say "We like the dinner". This way, the singular "gusta" is more obvious.
