I've been in France for a little over 2 years and I vary rarely hear the inversion form like they teach in school. It's good to know since you'll see it written, but for the most part in conversation we use the "Est-ce que" or just ask the question with the intonation such as "Tu veux aller au restaurant avec moi?" putting the pitch higher at the end.

Agree with Andy. Allez-vous is very formal, and would be used in overly formal places, like a black tie party.
