hey I'm going through the same thing with you. i think fluenz is the best program to take you to A2/B1. that said fluenz is no where enough to actually know all the material an A2/B1 person knows
I would highly recommend for you to do these things. Start with fluenz 1 and do an exercise each day. i would also get doulingo which is totally free and learn the words there. One thing i recommend for duolingo is to actually remember the nouns for each new vocab word. make sure you learn the der/die/das form because its extremely important.
there is also deutsche Welle which you should sign up for. both duolingo and DW are free. DW will help you with the listening part and has a lot of great podcasts you should listen to.
you have a gf so make sure you speak to her as often as possible and hear her speak. if you dedicate about 4/5 hours a day in learning german A1 will be very easy for you
Depending on how fast you go, you can actually get to A1 level in about 2/3 months.
Good luck
