3 types of adjectives in French,
1- before the noun
2- after the noun,
3- before or after the noun.
"prochain" is of the 3rd category but in this case (the specific sentence) having it before the noun sounds better. I do not think that it would be a grammatical error to place it after the noun just sound a little funny and you may hear it during your travels.
