It sounds like you ran the wrong updates which took your version back in time to an older version. If you have 2.10, I wouldn't recommend installing any updates, since it's the most recent version.
As for the issue with the accents, you can turn off the challenge mode and it will let you continue without the accents, but call us if you need more help and we can explain how it works.

Yes, I did exactly the same thing for another issue - downloaded what appeared to be the right update. Andy advised me in the same way. I've re-installed to fix things. Incidentally, in its broken state, Fluenz may even refuse to uninstall using the regular Windows Programs & Features in control panel. I had to run the actual uninstaller program to remove Fluenz. The uninstaller file is located here: C:\Program Files\Fluenz\Fluenz French 1\Fluenz French 1 Uninstaller.exe (probably a similar file for each level).
