You'll never make that mistake again! Please share some others.
I've got some good ones in French myself, but mostly because of my accent. I told a bus driver "Je vais descendre à la guerre (gare)" , "Il fait beaucoup de vin (vent), and "J'ai fait une prise de sein (sang) etc.

hahahaha I like the "prise de sein" !! When I started Spanish I went to a Starbucks in Mexico and the person asked me something, I had no idea what he said, so since he was holding the cup like they do in the US before writing the name on the cup, I gave him my name as the answer of his question. The staff started laughing uncontrollably and I still have no idea of what he asked me! So.. don't be afraid of asking the person to repeat until you understand !

Funny! I ike both the French and the Spanish ones....I made my my mistakes in English as a French native speaker. The words "skeptical" and "Septic" in French have the same sound when translated....but not in English.... So I used to say: I am septical. No longer......I think!
