i remember being confused when I studied that (I've been on/off at this since 2010! 2nd round of living in china now)

You're absolutely right Fabrice, diǎn r (sometimes along with "yi" or "you") means "a little" or "a bit of". Yet in some contexts it has the connotation of "not a lot" and in other contexts it's more like "a bit more", hence the confusion. Now, it's true that in the first version of the program, in matching exercises the translator sometimes used some very "open" translations, like in the examples you mention, but since it's a bit early to go into details about this at this stage, we took good care of sticking to the closest translations and the ones we teach in the program in the upgraded version. Thanks for mentioning this difficulty anyway, keep up the great work!!!
