In Spanish, subject pronouns are usually optional. So you can say "I want" either as "Yo quiero" or just "Quiero." Fluenz indicates which way they expect you to answer by putting the English pronoun in parentheses if it is to be omitted. So (you(p)) want is just quieren, while you(p) want is ustedes quieren. I checked Spanish 1 session 3, and couldn't find any instances where this rule wasn't followed. So I think your second sentence is probably not right, there are no parentheses around "you" when the answer includes the "ustedes." Can't help you with your Mac problems, however...

Since you didn't provide any information about punctuation, other than the fact that you're frustrated, I can only guess. Have you tried turning off Challenge mode?
