In Mexico limón is what is called lime in the US. I've actually never seen a yellow lemon in Mexico. That's one of the words that probably has a different meaning in Spain and in Latin America. I wouldn't be surprised that even within south america the naming is different. I'm going to Colombia in November, i'll check for that :)

In Costa Rica limón is used for both limes and lemons but what we in North America know as lemons aren't very common. To further complicate things there's "limón acido" and "limón dulce" so I'm never really sure what I'm buying. :-)

Maybe I could start a lemonade stand somewhere in South America and retire early. :))
