Are you using the special tilde character that's unique to Fluenz? If not, that may be where your problem is. In Spanish, a tilde-N is actually a separate letter of the alphabet, and not just a punctuation mark.

Thx Dennis for yr feedback but the special Spanish tilde and accents aren't necessary elsewhere. Baffling. I'll try again today.

I think in non-challenge mode you still need the tilde, but it doesn't require the accents. I would strongly suggest that you use the accents, they are important in Spanish and can change the sense or of the sentence or introduce some doubt of what you said if you omit them.

From my experience, I never saw a place where a tilde-N was asked for but not necessary. Since it's a separate letter of the alphabet, using a regular N is the same as using an F. But if you can direct me to a place where the tilde-N is not required, as you said it wasn't, I'd like to bring it to Fluenz's attention. As for the accent marks, if all you're going to do is SPEAK Spanish as opposed to writing it, I don't find them very necessary to use in the lessons.
