I am currently having the same issue as well. I'm trying to install on my fiance's MacBook (I'm not a Mac person at all), and getting the same thing. It HAS to be some sort of firewall/security setting, but I can't figure it out either, especially on a Mac. She is running McAfee (which I despise) and I was 90% sure that it was the problem, but even after disabling just about everything I could, the same error message would show. If you have antivirus/anti-malware software, I would try disabling that first. Good luck.

I have no malware or firewall active im not sure what it is but it is affecting 2 different os on 2 different computers. the only thing i can think of is maybe it has something to do with my ports on my router or something but im just to busy to take care of it myself.

First thing i did was consult the support center but they couldnt figure it out either. im sure they could have if i was available to talk with them over the phone but i am at work all day and night at times. i can use the browser version just fine and the app on my android but can not use the desktop exe on mac or pc. We are investigating the issue you've reported and believe that one of the major ISPs that routes traffic has a fault that is preventing a group of our users from accessing our servers. We are speaking with our hosting providers to see if there is anything we can do about it.
In the meantime we've come across a workaround to the issue that is quite easy to perform.
