Jim, I finished all 5 levels of LA Spanish about 6 months ago. I am continuing to study using other methods based primarily on a book recommended by Andy G: Fluent Forever by Gabriel Wyner. (Great book BTW - very effective.) For me, there's a correlation between comprehension and vocab. The more vocab I learn, the better my comprehension becomes. Also, one activity I find particularly helpful is listening (repeatedly, ad nauseam!) to podcasts that have accompanying transcripts in Spanish. Hope that helps. Stick with it - comprehension comes with time and persistence.

Thanks. I think you are right. Increasing my vocab will definitely help and I am trying to listen to every source I can. Thanks for taking your time to give me a response.

I know it may be a little odd hearing this, but you may already have, but if you do have the extra money to do it, I recommend buying rosetta stone espanol after completing fluenz. YES it will be a bit boring already knowing the grammor and structures and little odd and ends, but it is loaded with vocab. I bought it first before i heard about fluenz, and i can def say that fluenz is better at getting you to actually talk and understand but rosetta has more vocab practice in that sense, but I'm not bashing either one of the programs. Each has its own specific area of focus for the purpose of each program. I'd still prefer to learn the fluenz way if it were possible after completing all levels. I just made it to level 3 and on the very first review session at the beginning. LOVE it! Hope this helps!
