I would recommend practice writing and speaking some phrases that you make up yourself. I remember when I was at your level, I was picking up the material very well, yet I really lacked confidence in my ability to come up to use the language, French in my case, on my own. Until I eventually started forcing myself to go beyond simply repeating back what was written on the screen. Try watching some movies in Spanish, at this point you won't understand a lot but it is a very cool feeling when you can. If you live in an area with a lot of people who speak Spanish, try saying hello to a friendly face. You may also start looking for a Spanish penpal. You can go here http://spanish.tolearnfree.com/ to find people who speak Spanish and want to learn English. You help them, they help you. It still amazes me that today I can write a long email in a language that just a couple of years ago I barely knew 3 words. The bottom line is that practicing your new language is the best way to improve. Good Luck!
