In my opinion a good movie to watch is "Casa de mi Padre" on Netflix. I am nearing the end of level four and I have watched it three times now and use it to judge my comprehension improvement (and learn some new words). It's a silly comedy staring Wil Farrell (with all of his normal typical male humor) ... so the plot is not much to brag about ...BUT ... the entire movie is in Spanish with English subtitles. Wil Farrell being a native English speaker does his parts (fully in Spanish) at a slower speaking rate, while the supporting cast who are mostly native Spanish speakers (Mexican), speak much faster. So you get both rates. And being a silly comedy the vocabulary tends to be on the lower end of the scale, and easy to anticipate the context. When I watch it I use my fingers to cover the English subtitles and listen to the Spanish dialog. If I don't fully get it I move my fingers for the translation. It's about time for me to watch for the fourth time now that I am nearing the end of Fluenz level 4.
