I think that 'lo' here stands for 'usted', the formal 'you' instead of the informal 'te'.

Hi, Andrew is right, "yo te sigo" would be "I follow you(i)" because "te" is the pronoun we use for the informal you. "Yo lo sigo" could be translated as "I follow you (formal)", "I follow him" or "I follow it", depending on context. Hope this helps!
