Here is how I understand it. (ignoring accent marks for ease of typing) They all mean "over there". But they are degrees of distance. Ahi is over there, but not too far (close enough to see). Alla is over there, but much further (too far to see). Alli is pretty much the same as Ahi. They can be used interchangeably, and the use can be regional. Mexico tends to use Ahi and South America tends to use Alli. To add to the confusion some say that Alli is between Ahi and Alla as in too far to see but not real far away (again, that can be regional).
