The "de" should be pronounced. Maybe on the lesson it was faint.
The way "de" is pronounced in French is not like how it's pronounced in English, such as the word dedication, where we really hear "de"
The "e" in de is more of a schwa sound. It's like when we say the word banana. We don't go saying "BAA-na-na" but more like "buh-na-na" There's a schwa sound on the first vowel a.
So we pronounce "de" more like "duh" like how it is in "buh-na-na"
Do you have Google Translate? The pronouncing is OK. If you type that in "il y a deux stations de metro", you can hear the difference between "deux" and "de"
