Here again the difference comes from each person's accent, Caroline might have a more typical Parisian accent than Oliver, hence the "fricative" sound you're talking about.
Usually the "i" just sounds "ee", so don't worry too much about it! Yet it's a good thing you spot all those nuances, it means you already have a very good grasp of French sounds, so congrats and keep at it!
