Hi, I'm ready to purchase Spanish level 2. I own level 1 on disk. I'm wondering if anyone has an opinion regarding purchasing on disk verses purchasing the download only version. The download version would be immediate which is great but I'm wondering if I'm missing a benefit if I do not buy the actual disk and download it myself.
I used the download method. Once you create a log in ID and password, you can use the activation code that Fluenz will send in an email. At that point you are able to download each session onto your hard drive. You won't be streaming and don't have to worry about your internet connection. You can work offline. I work on a Mac laptop so I can not speak to how it works on iPad or smartphone.
I bought mine in Dec 2016, the boxed edition with DVD. As soon as you buy it you are emailed the information to download and install it anyways.
The real benefit to the physical version is that the packaging is so nice that you could almost put it on a book shelf as a display piece. Or, if you have a slow internet connection it could be nice to install right from the DVD so you could save time and internet bandwidth. However, if they have updated the software since they burned the disc that you buy you will have to download new files.
I went with the physical just because the box looks great facing out on my book shelf next to other language books and resources.
In short, they are the same from what I can tell but the box is pretty nice. I'd go for the box knowing that you will be emailed information that will allow you to use it online or download the program not long after you hit the but button.
