In the tutorial of Level 3 - Session 19, Sonia reviews indirect questions. "They can be embedded inside another question or a statement." In Spanish the verb remains after the question word, whereas in English the order is a bit different.
In the sentence you refer to, *cuando is your question word, and the verb *salir must follow directly after it. There is a similar example in the tutorial.
This indirect question:
Cuando salio esa pelicula?
All together:
Yo ya se cuando salio esa pelicula.
Tutorial:
Cuando sale el autobus?
All together:
Usted sabe cuando sale el autobus? (This could also be a statement since it is Yes/No)
So you really have three separate phrases put together
Yo ya se - I already know
Cuando salio esa pelicula? - When did that movie come out?
Fue en 2003 - (It) was in 2003.
Keep in mind that "fue en 2003" is a separate phrase to further clarify the statement. It has no impact on the first sentence and could be removed completely.
