Another interpretation is "I'll be back here in 30 mins". Now I'm confusing myself.

I don't see that phrase, is it Mandarin 1+2 ? The phrase I see is "I will also be here twenty minutes", so that' different from "i will also be here in twenty minutes". In any case, I think "I'll be here in 30 mn" is probably a bad translation as you said. I personally mix here and there all the time in every language I know.. I must have some spatial issues!

Hi wade27, I haven't been able to find this phrase on my end either, only "I'll be here 30 minutes" and other similar examples, but all expressing a duration, not a future time as the example you mention...
