Both ways are correct, however, adding the extra syllable at the end of "carte" is more of a Parisian accent. Personally, I say it quickly like "carte de crèdit" not "car-te de crèdit", but it's totally up to you which way you want to learn it

Where I'm from (near Lyon) we also usually cut off the final Es, and in Paris I'd say it is variable. Yet if you go to the South of France, to cities like Marseille or Toulouse for example, you'll notice that people emphasize these final Es a lot. The result is that words and phrases have more syllables and a different rythm, which is why we usually say that they have a more "singing" accent :)

I noticed this too. I thought I was going crazy LOL. I repeated the speaker 20 times when I first did this lesson.
